About Al Wadood Academy
“A Classical Education, Rooted in Faith”
Al Wadood Academy is a pioneering Islamic classical school located in Rochester, NY, offering a holistic educational experience that cultivates the soul, sharpens the intellect, and strengthens moral character. We are committed to restoring the sacred balance between academic excellence and spiritual development—empowering young Muslims to flourish in both this world and the Hereafter.
We take our name from “Al-Wadood,” one of the Most Beautiful Names of Allah, meaning The Most Loving. Love is at the heart of everything we do—love for knowledge, for truth, for the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and ultimately for Allah. Our school is a place where students are not only educated, but cherished, guided, and deeply understood.

Mission
To provide a transformative, GOD-conscious education grounded in the classical tradition that nurtures excellence in academics, character, and faith—preparing students to think critically, live virtuously, and lead with purpose.

Principal’s Welcome
Welcome to Al Wadood Academy, we strive to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where students can grow academically, spiritually, and emotionally. Our dedicated team is committed to providing quality education rooted in Islamic principles.

Our Philosophy: A Classical-Islamic Model:
At Al Wadood Academy, we blend the time-tested methods of classical education—the Trivium (Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric)—with the rich legacy of Islamic scholarship. Our students engage deeply with language, literature, science, math, history, Qur’anic studies, Arabic, and Islamic theology and law.
We don’t just teach facts—we teach how to think.
We don’t just prepare students for college—we prepare them for life.

Core Values
1. Tawheed (Divine Oneness)
- We begin with Allah. Our pedagogy, discipline, and community all reflect an unwavering awareness of Allah's presence and mercy.
2. Ilm (Knowledge)
-We strive for excellence in both religious and worldly knowledge. Following the legacy of scholars like Imam Al-Ghazali, Ibn Sina, and Fatima Al-Fihri, we teach our students that knowledge is a form of worship.
3. Adab (Manners & Conduct)
-Before reading or writing, our children learn adab—how to behave with humility, mercy, and respect toward parents, teachers, peers, and the world.
4. Ihsan (Excellence)
-We encourage students to aim for excellence—not perfection—but sincere, consistent effort in everything they do.
5. Amanah (Trust & Responsibility)
-Students are taught that they are stewards (khalifah) of the earth, entrusted with the care of knowledge, character, and community.
6. Brotherhood/Sisterhood & Belonging
-Al Wadood is a family. We build strong bonds between students, families, and staff to cultivate love, accountability, and belonging.
